When Guido van Helten walked past this big wall co When Guido van Helten walked past this big wall covered in tags, he knocked on the door and offered to paint over it. The resident handed him a photo of their grandfather who had built the building.

While he was painting this portrait of the owner's grandfather, he was approached to do a project "No exit" across the street in return for room and board. I posted about that project previously.
Van Helten also painted, among other things, "Akureyrarvaka" in downtown Akureyri.

Wall Poetry at the corner of Nýlendugata and Ægi Wall Poetry at the corner of Nýlendugata and Ægisgata in Reykjavík. The mural “Heavy Stones Fear No Weather” was painted by @wes21_schwarzmaler and @onurpainting, inspired by the song Empire by Of Monsters and Men.
I liked the way musiconwalls.com described the artists and the mural:
"We21 is known for his combination of science fiction elements with reality, while Onur has been recently preoccupied with representations of effects of urban living on human psyche. Heavy Stones Fear no Weather seems to follow both creatives’ interests. It is a depiction of fictional world where a stone fist rises as a sign of persistence and endurance."

When Thor went to Útgarðaloki (Loki of Útgarðu When Thor went to Útgarðaloki (Loki of Útgarður), he had to cross a river that was overflowing. Upstream was a giantess named Gjálp straddling the river. She was causing the water level in the river to rise.
Thor said: "Á skal að ósi stemma" English: "A problem should be dealt with at the root"
He then picked up a huge boulder and threw it at the giantess.
On top of Vatnajökull is a volcano (between Grímsvötn and Bárðarbunga) called Gjálp. The geologist Bryndís Brandsdóttir suggested this name based on this old story of Thor and the giantess.
This name was fitting because in 1996 the volcano caused the most catastrophic flood in Iceland since 1918.

Wall Poetry on Ægisgata 7 in Reykjavík is called Wall Poetry on Ægisgata 7 in Reykjavík is called "Time to scream and shout" by the British Urban Nation artist Phlegm. The mural is inspired by the song Time To Scream and Shout by the Icelandic band múm. Their website, mum.is says:

"Hallo. We are múm and that's who we are, (pronounced “miooyyuujm”). ... But we are not medical practitioners, nor are we what is generally considered “hobos of leisure”. We are conveyors of sound and a few things more and that’s quite enough."

The song that inspired the mural https://youtu.be/fe5a7Fc1BBo

Regarding the artist, streetartnews.net did a long article on him where they say among other things:

"Phlegm is a British muralist and artist who draws his environment into the narrative. He first developed his illustrations in self-published comics, and he still creates books of ink drawings....His art style is highly unique and recognizable making him the most adored street artist. The artist’s work is striking and it will not leave anyone ambiguous. His works are mostly featured in the urban landscape, and run-down spaces. His surreal illustrations tell a story untold, as his imaginative creatures explore the visual narrative."
