The tenth troublemaker yule lad to come arrives the night of December 21st. He is Gáttaþefur yule lad and has everyone in the house stressing about keeping the home clean.
Big nosed nosy yule lad
Gáttaþefur yule lad has an unusually long and hypersensitive nose. He uses this ability to locate laufabrauð (leaf bread) and other delicious freshly baked goods. However, leaf bread is his all time favorite. Because of this, I have added a video below on how to make it.
Smelly house no presents
Although Gáttaþefur yule lad’s favorite thing is Christmas baking, he also loves a clean house. For this reason, make sure your house is clean tonight because Gáttaþefur’s acute sense of smell will pick up any bad odors left behind.
On January 4th it’s time for Gáttaþefur to go back home and let people keep a messy house if they so please.
