The seventh and the noisiest yule lad comes to town the night of December 17th. His name is Hurðaskellir yule lad and loves to slam door which is why he’s the noisiest of his brothers.
Slammin' doors
This noisy Hurðaskellir yule lad’s favorite thing to do is to stomp around as loud as possible and slam doors as hard as possible. As a matter of fact, his main goal is to make it really hard to sleep through the night. To tell the truth, making people up is his all time favorite thing to do.
It's not the weather
What is more, when you hear the stormy weather pounding on your home tonight, don’t be afraid. It’s actually just Hurðaskellir yule lad having a good old time.
On December 31st, Hurðaskellir has to put his noisy nature to rest and head home. Therefore, you can rest well knowing he won’t keep you up all night for a whole year.

The Door Slammer verse
Out of sight sat Door Slammer
always bent on teasing people.
Late at night this Lad took pleasure
in noisily disturbing people’s sleep.
He slammed the doors hard enough
to frighten the dogs who fled upstairs.
